Students Send "Thank Yous!" to Susannah Newman and Film Festival

Every year, the Cape May New Jersey State Film Festival hosts a workshop for the students from around the region who want to learn more about making movies. Last November, Susannah Newman was our instructor, and she taught the students how to follow the action of a scene with the camera --and without a steadycam!

She loved working with the students. And from these testimonials, they loved working with her!

  • “I never realized a connection with childhood games like Streets & Alleys and Grand Central Station with acting and cinematography. I thoroughly enjoyed making my own film!” – Miranda
  • “I was excited when you told us we were going to make our own film. It was extremely fun making my hide-and-seek film.” –Nicole
  • “You taught me to focus, and the power of asymmetry…also the key points of steadying the camera and that silence is just as effective as noise.”
  • “What you taught us will stay in our minds forever. Everyone was very informative.” –Signe
  • “My favorite part was when we made the video about ninjas—that was a lot of fun!” –Samantha
  • “It was one of the greatest field trips I’ve ever been on!” --Andrea
