  • Workshops Working with actors 9:30 – 11:45AM   A hands-on workshop for young filmmakers. Well known actor Robert Prosky works with young filmmakers, helping them to discover how to direct actors in film and how to call forth great performances
  • Workshop: Sound & Music in Film
    1:30 – 5:00PM
    A hands-on workshop for young film makers. Two-time Grammy Award Winning arranger Allan Slutsky and film composer Stephen Kaminski mentor young filmmakers helping them to discover how to use music and sound effectively in film. This is a practical hands-on workshop in which students learn about issues like copyright, sound effects, and sound editing.
  • 12 NOON Press Luncheon
    Meeting for the press with professional film educators, university faculty and trustees of the newly formed Cape May School of Media Arts.

 

Friday, November 14th

  • Film Writer’s Workshop
    10:00 – 12:00 & 1:30 - 5:00

    Screenwriter Joe Stinson presents his six hour workshop on screenwriting. This workshop is rich in filmmaking stories and lore drawn from Stinson’s long career working with Clint Eastwood and others. Stinson himself admits that interaction with the participants often redirects the content of the workshop in unplanned directions.
    A certificate for six hours of continuing education will be provided to matriculated students. Includes admission to all Festival Saturday daytime events. Limited space.--sign up now.
  • 12:00 Award Ceremony for winners of NJ Short Screenplay Competition


Friday night

  • 7PM Opening Gala Reception
    Performance by singing sensation, Tiffany Evans (grand-prize winner of CBS Star Search, featured on Oprah, Jay Leno) opens the festival with songs from her upcoming album.
  • 8PM Governors’ award ceremony: William Baldwin
    Actor William Baldwin (Backdraft, Sliver, Internal Affairs) and Tom Colitsas, CEO and Founder of CSC Cargo Films, will accept the award for their contribution to the rebirth of filmmaking in NJ and for initiating “Hollywood East”.
  • Little Kings (2003) New Jersey Premiere
    Special Guests: Marylou Tibaldo-Bongiorno (producer, director, co-writer), Jerome Bongiorno (cinematographer, editor, co-writer), and actors Dominic Pace, Mark Giordano, Johnny Giacalone, and Rita Pietropinto

    Special Guests: Glenn Holsted (director) & Malcolm Lazin (executive producer)
    Followed by Panel Discussion: Saving the lives of young people who are “different”—e.g. gay, nerdy, quiet or withdrawn, smart, handicapped, minorities— from the average and who are then marginalized and often bullied by other students to the point of violence and suicide.
