Cape May NJ Film Festival Presents JibJab Media with Award for “New Media”

The Cape May NJ State Film Festival is proud to announce that Gregg and Evan Spiridellis, founders of JibJab Media and creators of this year’s hottest and hippest political satires, the animated song parodies, “This Land Is My Land. This Land Is Your Land” and “Good to Be in D.C.” are the inaugural recipients of the Festival’s First Annual Award for Artistic Achievement & Innovation in New Media. This award will be presented at the Festival’s Opening Night Gala on Friday, November 19th beginning at 7:00 pm.

Born in Marlboro, NJ and raised in central NJ, with production offices in Los Angeles, CA, they took the Internet by storm earlier this year with “This Land…”, then while appearing on “The Tonight Show”, were challenged by host, Jay Leno, to do it again. And so they did, with “Good To Be In D.C.”, an immediate sensation. To date, the result has been over 65 million hits to their website www.jibjab.com and a title wave of media attention. Characterized by a skewering humor that takes no prisoners of either political party, they and their work were in prominent evidence all across the television and broadcast landscape on Election Night. One commentator even coined the phrase, “Jibjab Nation”. The Spiridellis brothers have graciously accepted this first ever award and have been invited to attend the presentation at this year’s Opening Night Gala Celebration. The CMNJSFF is committed to recognizing and honoring New Jersey film artists in all media and is especially excited about the establishment of this new annual award for cutting-edge, ground-breaking work.

The 4th Annual Cape May New Jersey Film Festival will be held on November 18th – 21st at the elegantly restored Congress Hall Hotel and the Frank Family’s Cape May Beach Theater. The Festival is New Jersey’s premiere weekend film festival celebrating the best New Jersey films and filmmakers and has become one of the major festivals on the east coat.
