The New Jersey State Film Festival at Cape May
Announces Dates, New Venues and Lower Prices
Festival Dates are November 16th –19th
The New Jersey State Film Festival at Cape May is announcing its dates for the 2006 Annual Film Festival.
This year's events will run from Thursday through Sunday, November 16th-19th.
The festival will be adding local color by using unique venues throughout the city this year, instead of The Beach Theater.
"We are following the success of many festivals throughout the country that have opted for more intimate settings for their films and are steering away from traditional theaters," indicated Annie Mullock, Events Director for the festival.
"In fact, our festival actually started in smaller venues and we feel they will create a more effective atmosphere to show the selected films.
Our films are not those traditionally seen in theaters anyway so it makes sense to find unique venues. Where else can you enjoy an amazing Sunday Brunch and see local acclaimed artwork and films made by local filmmakers”, continued Mullock.
Some of the sites to be utilized include Cape May Elementary School, Congress Hall, The Convention Center, Cape May Stage and The Church of the Advent.
A trolley will be provided for easy access to all venues. "We have many surprises in store this year, such as the fact that we are adding some new events," continued Mullock.
The festival is also announcing new lower pricing structures and is working to help B & B's and hotels package the event more effectively for their guests.
"The festival has grown in attendance each year, selling thousands of tickets. However, we have decided to make this year's event even more accessible. By reducing ticket prices and increasing the number of locations, we are exploring ways to reach more people," said Mullock. "We are hoping these new enhancements will continue to draw sell-out crowds for 2006."
The New Jersey State Film Festival at Cape May is a non-profit organization whose mission is to educate and inspire students toward achieving their dreams in the film industry, to highlight and showcase amazing films by New Jersey artists and to support regional economic development by enhancing cultural tourism.
