FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Lincoln Center International Film Series Comes to
Cape May Film Festival

(Cape May, NJ) “Dance-on-Camera,” an international film series originating from New York’s Lincoln Center, is coming to the New Jersey State Film Festival this weekend. It is part of an entire series of films on the art of dance, hosted by filmmakers Deirdre Towers, Susannah Newman, and Stephanie Maxwell. “If you are even remotely interested in dancing, or you have a child in a dance program, this series cannot be missed,” says Stefan Prosky, Curator for the Film Festival. “The images are remarkable,” he adds.

On Saturday evening, November 17, there will be two screenings (7:00 and 8:30 p.m.) of the documentary “Movement (R)evolution Africa,” an astonishing exposition of choreographic form. The stunning dance by eight choreographers challenges stereotypes of “traditional Africa” to unveil soul-shaking response to the beauty and tragedy of 21st century Africa. All of these screenings will be in The Harrison Room of Congress Hall.

The New Jersey State Film Festival at Cape May is the state’s premiere film festival dedicated exclusively to the support and presentation of creative, challenging, groundbreaking, film/video works by New Jersey filmmakers. The Festival is also the region’s leading educational and cultural resource for youth and adult learners interested in all facets of the cinematic experience. For tickets and information, contact the Film Festival office at 609-884-6700 or visit them online at www.njstatefilmfestival.com.
